Types of Trolls

Trolls of Asgard

The Trolls of Asgard are scattered throughout each of the Nine Worlds. While the Trolls are belligerent as the Giants, the Trolls are crafty and are stronger than any Asgardian, Dwarf, or Elf and are even on par with the Giants.[1]

Orange-Skinned Rock Trolls

The Orange-Skinned Rock Trolls first appeared in Avengers #1 and were created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.

The Orange-Skinned Rock Trolls are stocky and massive with orange skin, ape-like faces, some hair on them, five fingers on each hand, and two toes on each foot. These Rock Trolls first appeared when Loki summoned them to fight Thor, Iron Man, Ant-Man, and Wasp which would lead up to the formation of the Avengers.[2]

Flying Trolls of Thryheim

The Flying Trolls of Thryheim are a race of Trolls that wear insectoid armor that enables them to fly. They reside in the area of Thryheim that is adjacent to Asgard and serve Queen Ula.[3]

Forest Trolls

The Forest Trolls are a race of Trolls that are more simian and furry than the rest of the Trolls of Asgard. They reside in the forests with one of the forests being in World's End.[4]

Silent Ones

The Silent Ones are a race of Trolls that live on the Isle of Silence in the Sea of Mist.[2]

Trolls of Hades

The Trolls of Hades are a race of Greek Trolls that are more amphibious in nature and reside in the Greek underworld. An army of them are loyal to Pluto.[5]

Trolls of Otherworld

The Trolls of Otherworld are a race of Trolls that reside in Otherworld where they work as blacksmiths and stonemasons. They make their homes in the complex cave systems that are located in Otherworld's mountains. There had been some claims that the Trolls of Otherworld are descended from a refugee Rock Troll.[6] Other people state that there is no connection between the Rock Trolls and the Trolls of Otherworld.[7] The Trolls of Otherworld are said to dissolve if they come in contact with water as they are creatures of fire.[8]

Powers and abilities

Most of the known Troll species possess super-strength. Some of them are good at performing magic.
