TVSN (an acronym for "Television Shopping Network") is an Australian and New Zealand broadcast, cable television and satellite television network specializing in home shopping. It is owned by parent company Direct Group Pty Ltd, a home marketing and shopping company based in the Sydney suburb of Frenchs Forest, which also owns sister channel Expo.[6]

The channel broadcasts live every day from 08:30 to 21:30 AEST.

TVSN began broadcasting in 1995 from their Lane Cove, Sydney headquarters.[7] It was soon listed on the Australian Stock Exchange in 1999 after sustaining some growth.

In 2004, the network was acquired by Innovations Direct Group Pty Ltd, an Australian-based home shopping company which produces a number of direct catalogue publications, including Innovations and Homecare magazines.[8] Channel operations soon moved to new facilities in Frenchs Forest alongside the parent company.

Channels and Live Streaming

Former logo (2001-2010)

Some Australian pay television services carry TVSN as part of their basic subscription package. These services include Foxtel, Austar and Optus TV. It was previously carried by Neighbourhood Cable. The channel is also available free to air via the Optus C1 satellite.[9] In addition, the company's website broadcasts a live video stream of the channel.

In September 2012, TVSN became available to free-to-air to metropolitan viewers after Network Ten and TVSN partnered to broadcast the channel as a datacast service on LCN 14.[10] From December 2012-July 2016, regional Network Ten affiliate Southern Cross Ten began broadcasting the channel to regional viewers on LCN 54.

On 1 July 2016, SC10 became part of Southern Cross Nine affiliated to the Nine Network, while WIN Television became the Network Ten affiliate. Consequently, TVSN will be broadcast on LCN 84 in Southern NSW, ACT, Griffith, regional Victoria, Mildura, regional Queensland, Tasmania, and South Australia via WIN while Southern Cross and Ten Northern NSW will cease broadcasting the channel.[11] In Northern NSW, TVSN was moved from Channel 54 to Channel 57, 75 and 84.

On 2 September 2018 in WIN areas, TVSN became MPEG-4 to collide with the launch of Sky News on WIN.

New Zealand version

From 20 August 2013, Kordia began broadcasting a localised version of the channel on LCN 20 to a national New Zealand audience on the Freeview (New Zealand) terrestrial service, which is taken from the encrypted SKY TV (New Zealand) satellite channel launched at the same time.

10 Peach

10 Peach is an Australian free-to-air digital television multichannel operated by Network 10. The channel launched on 11 January 2011 as Eleven. It is owned by ElevenCo, which was established as a joint venture between Ten Network Holdings and CBS Studios International; the latter would ultimately acquire Network Ten in 2017.

The channel focuses primarily on programming targeting a young adult audience, and is the current home of Neighbours—the longest-running drama series on Australian television.

Discovery Kids (Australian TV channel)

Discovery Kids (stylised as Discovery K!ds) is an Australian subscription television channel, aimed at 2-6 year olds screening factual and educational programming. The channel launched on Foxtel on 3 November 2014.The channel replaced Discovery Home & Health, whose select programming moved to TLC.

Discovery Turbo (Asia)

Discovery Turbo was an Asian male-oriented factual television channel devoted to programming about cars, bikes, boats, and planes. The channel was owned by Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific. The channel was recently replaced Discovery Real Time, although the European version continues to broadcast.

It was formerly available on SelecTV from 15 March 2007 until the closure of its English service in late 2010.It was officially announced that Discovery Turbo (in SD format) ends its broadcast on July 7, 2014 at 5:59 AM as rebranded to DMAX starting at 6:00 AM as the same day. The HD feed would carry some programmes of this channel until 1 February 2015, in which also replaced by DMAX as well.

Expo Channel

Expo Channel is an Australian home shopping channel. It is owned by parent company Direct Group Pty Ltd, a marketing and direct sales company based in Sydney, which also owns sister channel TVSN.

Foxtel Smooth

Foxtel Smooth (formerly Smooth) is a 18-hour (originally 24-hour) Australian pay television music channel available via Foxtel satellite and cable services. It launched on 3 December 2013, dedicated to easy listening adult contemporary music.

Lifestyle Food

Lifestyle Food (stylised as Lifestyle FOOD) is an Australian pay-TV food channel, solely dedicated to food, wine and restaurant society. The channel is a subsidiary of Lifestyle, which runs 24 hours a day on the Foxtel.

On 19 September 2016, Lifestyle refreshed its look which included a new logo.

Lifestyle You

Lifestyle You (stylised as Lifestyle YOU) was an Australian subscription TV channel. It was a sister channel to Lifestyle, Lifestyle Home and Lifestyle Food. Lifestyle You was home to personal makeovers, hilarious and honest reality, health, wellness, family and relationship programming.

In August 2017, Foxtel announced that Lifestyle You would end in October and that its content would move to Lifestyle and Arena.

List of digital television channels in Australia

This is a list of the current channels available on digital terrestrial television in Australia.

The commercial channels available to viewers depend on location and station ownership. The process of aggregation during the late 80s to mid 90s saw regional stations take on affiliations with metropolitan channels for programming, a practice that has continued into digital television with affiliated stations carrying various multichannels from their metropolitan counterparts.

Metropolitan in this list therefore refers to the capitals of Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, where stations are owned and operated by the network rather than affiliates.

In areas not covered by terrestrial transmissions, the digital channels are provided by the free-to-view VAST satellite platform. The television channels on this platform are all encoded in H.264 and subject to a MPEG-LA controlled transmission patent licensing tax which is included in the VAST broadcaster cost and varies on viewership figures. The terrestrial transmissions still use H.262, which doesn't incur any additional transmission costs, but select channels are broadcast terrestrially in H.264.


LocalVision was a group of community access channels that broadcast on the Optus Vision cable television service.

Rai Italia

Sarah Vandenbergh

Sarah Vandenbergh (born 9 October 1972 in Sydney, Australia) is an Australian actress.

Vandenbergh played the original role of Lauren Carpenter in Neighbours, 1993–94, and Kerry in Hollyoaks, 1999–2000. She was also a presenter on Fully Booked from 1996 until 1997 and has appeared in the guest role of Lana Hemmings in Holby City. She appeared as a nun in short film Fancy Dress and as student Cassie Sanderson in Inbetweeners, a film about the British student experience. In 2006 she guest starred in an episode of McLeod's Daughters. She presents for TVSN, an Australian television shopping network.

Spree TV

Spree TV is an Australian free-to-air television channel launched on 17 September 2013 by Ten Network Holdings and Brand Developers. The channel broadcasts infomercials and home shopping.

TVT (TV station)

TVT is Tasmania's first television station, delivering its first official broadcast on 23 May 1960. The callsign stands for "TeleVision Tasmania". Unlike the commercial stations in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and later Perth, TVT held a monopoly in the Hobart market for many years (not unlike CTC in Canberra and NTD in Darwin).

Initially it broadcast from the Mount Wellington transmitter on VHF channel 6, to all of Hobart. Its broadcast licence area covered all of southern Tasmania, these areas being reached by various repeaters and retransmitters.

It continued to broadcast as TVT-6 until 1982, where it was bought by ENT, owner of Launceston station TNT-9. Both stations began broadcasting under the unified on-air identity of TasTV by 1985, thus becoming for the first time a statewide network. ENT also owned Vic TV in regional Victoria.

In 1988, TNT-9 was sold to Tricom Corporation (later Southern Cross Broadcasting), leaving TVT-6 continuing to service the south as TasTV. And with the dawn of statewide aggregation rising in the early 1990s, TasTV began its preparation, this time as the Nine Network affiliate for the state on the very moment it would restart broadcasts to Northern Tasmania thanks to aggregation. TasTV aired most Nine Network programs, some are the programs from Seven Network and Network Ten. It adopted Nine's idents and campaigns and a new slogan, First in Tasmania, in 1993, and the news service was reconfigured to that of Nine's.

The biggest change to Tasmanian television came in 1994 when aggregation occurred. This allowed both TasTV (TVT-6) and Southern Cross (TNT-9) to broadcast across the entire state and for the first time, give Tasmanians a choice of commercial stations. TasTV, now once again broadcasting all over the state, officially confirmed itself as the Nine Network affiliate and Southern Cross held dual Seven and Ten affiliations.

In October of that year, WIN Corporation bought ENT in a forced takeover and thus TasTV became WIN Tasmania, the state division of the growing regional network. It still uses the callsign TVT-6 for its Hobart and southern Tasmania licence.

In 2002, WIN Corporation and Southern Cross Broadcasting formed a joint venture company to broadcast a third commercial station, Tasmanian Digital Television, in a digital-only format as a Ten affiliate.

On 1 July 2016, as part of a wide national re-alignment of regional television, TVT swapped affiliations with TDT switching from Nine Network to Network Ten, but TVT rebroadcasts a feed of ATV-10 from Melbourne with local ads.

The station is affiliated with the metropolitan Network Ten and also broadcasts most of Ten's sub-channels (10 Bold, 10 Peach and TVSN).

Viva la Dolce Vita

Viva la Dolce Vita is an album by Italian baritone Patrizio Buanne, which was released on April 17, 2015 in Australia. It entered the Australian pop albums chart the next week at No. 44, later peaking at No. 33 and additionally peaking at No. 1 on the Australian ARIA Classical/Crossover Albums Chart.

The album includes an Italian version of the Charlie Chaplin song "Smile" as well as an English/Italian version of the Elvis Presley song "Surrender", original compositions such as "I Will Love You" and popular Italian songs such as "Gli Occhi Miei".

Buanne promoted the album on several TV shows in Australia, such as The Morning Show, where he performed the song "I Will Love You" and on TVSN, which sold signed copies of the albums via television.

WOW (TV station)

WOW is an Australian television station licensed to WIN Television, serving regional and remote Western Australia. The station officially commenced transmissions on 26 March 1999 as the second commercial regional broadcaster in Western Australia, alongside former monopoly, Golden West Network (GWN7).
