Sky News Election Channel

Sky News Election Channel was an Australian 24-hour cable and satellite news channel available on the Foxtel platform, operated by Sky News Australia. It launched on 1 May 2016, temporarily[1] replacing A-PAC as a linear channel, dedicated to coverage of political events relating to the 2016 Australian federal election and American presidential election.[2] Although the channel was originally planned to close on 29 November 2016 (with A-PAC returning as a broadcast channel),[3] this was later postponed,[4] and ultimately the channel did not cease broadcasting until 23 January 2017.[5]

The channel broadcast coverage of news conferences, policy announcements and events related to the Australian and American elections, as well as the United Kingdom referendum on remaining in the European Union. It also broadcasts coverage and programming from Sky News' international partners including Sky News UK, C-SPAN, CBS News and ABC World News.[6][7]

Reruns of Sky News original programs including AM Agenda, PM Agenda, Paul Murray Live, Beattie & Reith and The Bolt Report were also part of the schedule.[8]

It debuted in time to broadcast President Barack Obama's final address at the White House Correspondents’ Association live as the channel's first major event.[7]

The channel also broadcast coverage of the memorial service for Muhammad Ali on 11 June 2016.[9]

The 2016 Walkley Awards were broadcast on both the Election Channel and A-PAC on 2 December 2016.[10]


The channel was available on the Foxtel platform on two channels, 606 and 648, temporarily replacing Sky News Extra on the latter which became available only online and through the Sky News Multiview service.[2] Although the channel was only initially available in standard definition, a high definition simulcast of the channel launched on 15 May 2016.[1]

Binge (TV channel)

Binge is an Australian 24-hour pay television channel available on the Foxtel platform. Originally scheduled to launch on 1 October 2016, the channel instead launched on 5 October 2016. The channel, similar to sister channel BoxSets, will broadcast multiple episodes of drama and comedy programs, allowing viewers to binge-watch a series. Binge will be part of the drama pack on channel 116.

Country Music Channel

Country Music Channel (CMC) is an Australian cable and satellite music television channel owned and operated by Foxtel Networks. It airs on Foxtel. CMC is the only country music video channel in Australia, created after the departure of MusicCountry from the Australian market.

Discovery Kids (Australian TV channel)

Discovery Kids (stylised as Discovery K!ds) is an Australian subscription television channel, aimed at 2-6 year olds screening factual and educational programming. The channel launched on Foxtel on 3 November 2014.The channel replaced Discovery Home & Health, whose select programming moved to TLC.

Discovery Turbo (Asia)

Discovery Turbo was an Asian male-oriented factual television channel devoted to programming about cars, bikes, boats, and planes. The channel was owned by Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific. The channel was recently replaced Discovery Real Time, although the European version continues to broadcast.

It was formerly available on SelecTV from 15 March 2007 until the closure of its English service in late 2010.It was officially announced that Discovery Turbo (in SD format) ends its broadcast on July 7, 2014 at 5:59 AM as rebranded to DMAX starting at 6:00 AM as the same day. The HD feed would carry some programmes of this channel until 1 February 2015, in which also replaced by DMAX as well.

Expo Channel

Expo Channel is an Australian home shopping channel. It is owned by parent company Direct Group Pty Ltd, a marketing and direct sales company based in Sydney, which also owns sister channel TVSN.

Foxtel Arts

Foxtel Arts is a subscription television arts channel available in Australia on the Foxtel platform.

Foxtel Smooth (formerly Smooth) is a 18-hour (originally 24-hour) Australian pay television music channel available via Foxtel satellite and cable services. It launched on 3 December 2013, dedicated to easy listening adult contemporary music.

Lifestyle Food

Lifestyle Food (stylised as Lifestyle FOOD) is an Australian pay-TV food channel, solely dedicated to food, wine and restaurant society. The channel is a subsidiary of Lifestyle, which runs 24 hours a day on the Foxtel.

On 19 September 2016, Lifestyle refreshed its look which included a new logo.

Lifestyle You (stylised as Lifestyle YOU) was an Australian subscription TV channel. It was a sister channel to Lifestyle, Lifestyle Home and Lifestyle Food. Lifestyle You was home to personal makeovers, hilarious and honest reality, health, wellness, family and relationship programming.

In August 2017, Foxtel announced that Lifestyle You would end in October and that its content would move to Lifestyle and Arena.

It had 9.6 million unique readers in April 2019 and specialises in breaking national and international news as well as entertainment, sport, lifestyle, travel, technology and finance. Nick Jr. (Australian TV channel)

Nick Jr. is a 24-hour children's channel in Australia designed for pre-schoolers. Nick Jr. was a morning programming block on Nickelodeon until 2004, when Foxtel launched it as a full 24-hour kids channel. The channel is run by Foxtel Networks, under license from Viacom, and is also available on Optus Television and FetchTV.

Oh! (TV channel)

Oh! was an Australian cable TV channel owned by Optus Television. It served as the services's premier general entertainment channel until it was replaced by FOX8 in 2002. Programming was mostly sourced from Warner Brothers Television. After the channels closure, the content was given to Foxtel and XYZnetworks channels, with most of the Warner Brothers shows moving to Arena.

Rai Italia

Rai Italia is the international television service of Rai Internazionale, a subsidiary of RAI, Italy's public national broadcaster. Rai Italia operates a television network that broadcasts around the world via 3 localized feeds. Sky News Australia (branded on air as Sky News Live, and until 18 January 2015 as Sky News National) is an Australian 24-hour cable and satellite news channel available on the Foxtel and Optus Television subscription platforms. It is also available in New Zealand on Sky Television and Vodafone.Sky News Australia launched at 5pm on 19 February 1996, as the first Australian-produced television news channel. The channel aired its 50,000th unique newscast on 23 April 1996 at 11am. Sky News was added to Austar on 1 April 2000. In 2004, Sky News began broadcasting Sky News Active, its on-demand interactive TV news service. In 2008, Sky News launched the Sky News Business Channel, and on 20 January 2009, Sky News launched Australian Public Affairs Channel (A-PAC). It began widescreen broadcasting on 17 May 2009. Sky News Australia began broadcasting in high definition on 1 December 2015. A fourth spin-off channel, Sky News Election Channel, was launched on 1 May 2016.

In July 2017, Sky News became provider of Fox Sports News with a mix of presenters and reporters from both organisations combining for 20 hours of live content per day on channel 500. While sports updates on Sky News programs are introduced as "Fox Sports News Updates."

In May 2018, Sky News Live moved to channel 600 and added a simulcast on channel 103, while its multiview service closed and moved some of its overflow channels to an online portal. The flagship British Sky News channel also launched on Foxtel as Sky News UK and A-PAC rebranded as Sky News Extra.

Sky News Extra (formerly A-PAC AY-pak; Australian Public Affairs Channel) is an Australian 24-hour cable and satellite public affairs news channel owned by Foxtel.


TVHits (stylised as TVH!TS) is an Australian subscription television channel that focuses on dramas. The channel launched on 1 January 2014, replacing TV1.
