Richard Koeper

Richard Koeper was a professional American football player.


Koeper was born Richard Manfred Koeper on July 23, 1943 in San Francisco, California.[1] He died from a heart attack on March 13, 2010.[2]


Koeper played the 1966 NFL season with the Atlanta Falcons. He had previously been drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the sixth round of the 1965 NFL Draft. Later, he would play with the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League.

Koeper also served as an assistant coach at Oregon State University, where he had played at the collegiate level.

1965 NFL Draft

The 1965 National Football League draft was held at the Summit Hotel in New York City on Saturday, November 28, 1964. The first player selected was Tucker Frederickson, back from Auburn, by the New York Giants.The draft was marked by the failure of the St. Louis Cardinals to sign quarterback Joe Namath of Alabama, who went with the New York Jets of the American Football League. The AFL draft was held the same day.

Gary Marshall Barnes (born September 13, 1939 in Fairfax, Alabama) is a former American football wide receiver in the National Football League for the Green Bay Packers, the Dallas Cowboys, the Chicago Bears, and the Atlanta Falcons. He played college football at Clemson University.
