Philippine News Agency

Philippine News Agency, also known as PNA, is the official news agency of the Philippine government. PNA is under supervision and control of the News and Information Bureau, an attached agency of the Presidential Communications Operations Office. It was established on March 1, 1973 by then President Ferdinand Marcos, and currently has its headquarters in Quezon City.[1][2] It was one of the agencies that Marcos used to place Philippine media under siege and control all sources of information.[3] During martial law, the government would send out "advisers" from the PNA to instruct news offices to downplay or ignore certain stories, including those on the armed Muslim rebellion in Mindanao.[4]

2018 Copa Paulino Alcantara

The 2018 Copa Paulino Alcantara was the first edition of the Copa Paulino Alcantara the domestic football cup competition of the Philippines. The competition started on September 1, 2018 and concluded on October 27, 2018, with Kaya–Iloilo winning the inaugural tournament after defeating Davao Aguilas, 1–0 in extra time.

The winners qualified for the 2019 AFC Cup.

2019 Jolo Cathedral bombings

On the morning of January 27, 2019, two bombs exploded at the Roman Catholic Cathedral of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Jolo, Sulu, in the Philippines. Twenty people were killed and 102 others injured. The bombings took place a week after the autonomy plebiscite held on January 21 for the creation of Bangsamoro Autonomous Region. It is believed that the attacks were carried out by the Abu Sayyaf, and the Islamic State claimed responsibility. Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte responded by issuing an "all-out war" directive against the Abu Sayyaf. The bombings were widely condemned by neighboring and distant countries, local and foreign organizations all issuing condemnations and condolences to the victims of the cathedral attack.

Adeline Dumapong

Adeline Dumapong-Ancheta (born December 13, 1973) is a Filipina Paralympic Powerlifter. She became the first Filipina to win a Paralympic medal ever when she won bronze at the 2000 Summer Paralympics.

BRP Tarlac (LD-601)

BRP Tarlac (LD-601) is the lead ship of her class of Philippine Navy (PN) landing platform docks. She is the second ship to be named after the Philippine province of Tarlac, one of the provinces considered to have significant involvement in the Philippine Revolution of independence against Spain.

Camp Aguinaldo

Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo (CGEA) is the military headquarters of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and is located in Quezon City in the Philippines. It is located along Epifanio de los Santos Ave. (or EDSA), in front of Camp Crame, the national headquarters of the Philippine National Police (PNP). The military base is named after the revolutionary leader, Emilio Aguinaldo who became the first Philippine President, that fought in the Philippine Revolution, the Spanish–American and the Philippine–American War.

Katipunan subway station

Katipunan station is a planned station on the Metro Manila Subway Line 9 . Like all other Line 9 stations, the station is underground. It is the last station that is located inside Quezon City. The station is planned to be built underneath Camp Aguinaldo property, along the intersection of Katipunan Avenue and Col. Bonny Serrano Avenue.The station should not be confused with the LRT-2 Katipunan station, which is also underground but is located further north along Aurora Boulevard cor. Katipunan Avenue.

Lawton East subway station

Lawton East is a planned station on the Metro Manila Subway Line 9. The station would be built underground, serving the southern portion of Bonifacio Global City, particularly the townships of McKinley Hill, McKinley West and the planned Bonifacio Capital District in Taguig City.

The station itself is planned to be built in front of the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority, situated at the intersection of Bayani Road and Lawton Avenue in Brgy. Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City. It is one of two stations to be built along Lawton Avenue, named after United States Army Major General Henry Ware Lawton, the highest ranking American officer killed in action during the Philippine-American War.

Lawton West is a planned station on the Metro Manila Subway Line 9. The station would be built underground. The station itself is planned to be built on Bases Conversion and Development Authority property along the intersection of Chino Roces Avenue and Lawton Avenue in Brgy. Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.The station is one of two stations to be built along Lawton Avenue, named after United States Army Major General Henry Ware Lawton, the highest ranking American officer killed in action during the Philippine-American War.

Lawton West is planned to be the last station before the line splits in two, with the main line heading south towards FTI, while a branch line goes west to NAIA Terminal 3.

The station is also planned to be connected to the PNR Nichols Station.

Martin Andanar

José Ruperto Martín Marfori Andanar (born August 21, 1974) is a former Filipino television news personality and news anchor, radio commentator, podcaster, audio blogger and voice-over artist who last worked for TV5. He is currently the Secretary of the Presidential Communications Office of the Philippines under the Duterte administration. Andanar and his team are widely criticized by media and activists for being purveyors of fake news and propaganda.Andanar was the head of News5 Everywhere, the online news video and audio portal of TV5, formerly anchored Aksyon sa Umaga and Punto Asintado on Radyo5 92.3 News FM and AksyonTV, sister stations of TV5. He was also a voice-over talent of News5, AksyonTV, and Radyo5 92.3 News FM.In June 2016, it was announced that Andanar will be joining President Rodrigo Duterte's administration as the Secretary of the Presidential Communications Operations Office, replacing Sonny Coloma. NAIA Terminal 3 subway station

NAIA Terminal 3 station is a planned station on the Metro Manila Subway Line 9. The station would be built underground. The station is one of the southern termini of Line 9's Phase 1 to be built underneath Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 in Pasay City. The station would be the first direct airport rail link in the country.

Thomas Orbos

Thomas "Tim" Muñoz Orbos is a Filipino businessman, government administrator and politician who was General Manager of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and Undersecretary for Road Transport and Infrastructure of the Department of Transportation under the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte. He also served as MMDA's acting chairman following the resignation of Emerson Carlos on August 19, 2016. Orbos previously held the position of MMDA Assistant General Manager for Planning under then President Benigno Aquino III.Orbos hails from the province of Pangasinan and is the brother of former Executive Secretary and Congressman Oscar Orbos, as well as popular priest and Philippine Daily Inquirer columnist Fr. Jerry Orbos. He has also previously worked as Undersecretary for the Office of the President and owned several businesses in the past including the Pangasinan Presidents (later renamed Pangasinan Waves) franchise team in the now-defunct Metropolitan Basketball Association. He is also an alumnus from Massachusetts Institute Of Technology, Sloan School of Management.

Orbos, as of October 2018, is running for a congressional seat representing the 1st District of Pangasinan, a post formerly headed by his brother. He is running under the PDP–Laban.
