Arinos

Arinos is a municipality in northern Minas Gerais state in Brazil. Arinos is located west of the Federal District on the Urucuia River, a major tributary of the São Francisco. The city is 333 km from Brasília.

The municipality belongs to the statistical microregion of Unaí Microregion, which has 9 municipalities. Neighboring municipalities are:

East: Urucuia and Chapada GaúchaArinos has poor highway connections leading east to the Sao Francisco river and to the state capital of Belo Horizonte, but a better road leading west to the national capital of Brasília. Few of the roads in the town are paved. There is a fully paved road (BR-479) leading west to Cabeceiras to join the important BR-020, 22 kilometers east of Formosa. The distance is approximately 165 kilometers. Another paved road leads west, then southwest to Garapuava, and continues southwest to the important regional center of Unaí.

Cotegipe (former Campo Largo) is a microregion and a municipality in the Brazilian state of Bahia in the north-east region of Brazil. Part of the Extremo Oeste Baiano mesoregion, the town was founded in 1820 and had a population of 13,638 as of the 2010.

It belonged to the mesoregion of the Noroeste Rio-Grandense. Its population was estimated by the IBGE to be of 175,391 in 2005, divided in 27 municipalities. Its total area is of 5,182.529 km². The IBGE has since discontinued the microregion system for population tracking, replacing it with the term "immediate geographic region" (Brazilian Portuguese: Região geográfica imediata).

Its population was estimated by the IBGE to be of 183.142 inhabitants in 2005, and it is divided in 15 Municipalities. Its total area is of 5.100,402 km².

Microregions of Brazil

A microregion (Portuguese: Microrregião) was a legally defined area in Brazil consisting of a group of municipalities. They were abolished in 2017 and replaced by "immediate geographic regions". Microregions were grouped together into mesoregions. In theory, Brazilian law provided for member municipalities to cooperate on matters of common interest, but in practice, the divisions were used primarily for statistical purposes by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics.
