Javed Ali is an Indian playback singer who predominantly sings in Hindi language films. He has also sung in various regional languages like Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.

Early life

Javed Ali was born Javed Hussain in Panchkuian Road, Delhi.[2][3] He studied in Ramjas School 4, Paharganj.[4] Javed Ali started singing at a very early age with his father Ustad Hamid Hussain, a popular qawwali singer. During an interview, he said that his father used to sing kirtans. Ghazal singer Ghulam Ali heard Ali's voice and felt that he could become a great singer in future. Ghulam Ali not only guided Javed, but also gave him chance to sing in his live concerts. As a tribute and honour to his guru Ghulam Ali, Javed changed his name from Javed Hussain to Javed Ali.[3]

Career

In 2007 Javed Ali came into limelight for his song 'Ek Din Teri Raahon Mein' from the film Naqaab and thereafter he sang Jashn-e-Bahaaran from Jodhaa Akbar, Arziyan from Delhi-6, Kun Faya Kun from Rockstar, Guzarish from Ghajini, Aa Jao Meri Tamanna from Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, Gale Lag Ja from De Dana Dan, Tu Hi Haqeeqat from Tum Mile, Tum Tak from Raanjhanaa, Jab Tak Hai Jaan title track from the film Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Deewana Kar Raha Hai from Raaz 3, Ishaqzaade title track from the film Ishaqzaade, Galat Baat Hai from Main Tera Hero, Daawat-e-Ishq film's Title Track, Maula from Wazir, Nagada Nagada from Jab We Met, Tu Jo Mila from Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Saanson Ke from Raees, Kuch Nahi from Tubelight etc & many more. Javed Ali performs live with his band all over the world. In 2016 July–August Javed Ali performed in 9 cities of the United States of America. Also Javed Ali regular performs in maestro A.R Rahman's worldwide live concert tours.[36][37][38][39][40][41][42][43][44][45]
On 15 August 2016 Javed Ali performed in the Headquarters of the United Nations with the maestro A.R Rahman to celebrate India's 70th Independence Day.[46]

Social Work

Along with playback singing & live performing, Javed Ali is associated with various social works. He performs live for various social causes to raise funds. In 2016 Javed Ali performed in Mumbai at a fundraiser event for war widows.[47][48]

He recently performed for a fund raiser for an old age home at Satpala, Virar in Palghar, Maharashtra on 10 November 2018.

10th Mirchi Music Awards

The 10th Mirchi Music Awards, presented by the Radio Mirchi, honoured the best music professionals of Hindi language Indian films of 2017. The ceremony was held on 28 January 2018 at the Dome @ National Sports Club of India, Mumbai and was hosted by Sonu Nigam. There were many performances, including those by Shreya Ghoshal, Ayushmann Khurrana, Javed Ali, Harshdeep Kaur and Neha Bhasin. A musical tribute was given to A. R. Rahman for completing his 25 years in the Indian cinema. Jab Harry Met Sejal won a leading five awards including Album of the Year and Song of the Year for "Hawayein". The show was broadcast on 18 March 2018 on Zee TV.

Best of Luck (2013 film)

Best of Luck is a Punjabi film starring Gippy Grewal, Jazzy B (in his acting debut), Binnu Dhillon, Simran Kaur Mundi (Miss India Universe 2008) and Sonam Bajwa.

Music for the film was composed by Jatinder Shah. Shooting of the film started in May 2012 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and the second schedule was completed in Jalandhar, Punjab in September 2012.

Incident (festival)

Incident is the annual cultural festival of the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) in Surathkal, Karnataka, India. The fest is a four-day-long event during the even semester of the NITK Calendar held in the month of March. The fest brings together students from different colleges all over India and is composed of several competitive events as well as pro-shows by big artists including Sunidhi Chauhan, Salim-Sulaiman, the duo of Vishal-Shekhar and Javed Ali.

Kunwar Javed Ali /Javed Ali Khan (born 1935) was an Indian National Congress politician from Sadabad, Uttar Pradesh, India.

He was born in noted Nawab of Sadabad family and is son of Ashraf Ali Khan. His father was also a long time politician representing Sadabad assembly in per-independence in 1939 and later in 1969.Javed Ali was elected as an Indian National Congress party candidate from Sadabad to Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly in 1980, during which time he also served as Minister. In 1999, he contested election as Congress candidate from Jalesar but did not win.

Javed Ali Khan

Javed Ali Khan (born 31 October 1962) is a politician from Samajwadi Party is a Member of the Parliament of India representing Uttar Pradesh in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament. He was appointed the District President of the Samajwadi Party from District Moradabad in 2005 and also contested the 2007 Vidhan Sabha elections from Thakurdwara , Uttar Pradesh.

Kajra Re

Kajra Re (Hindi: कजरारे, English: Kohl-like dark(Eyes)) is a song composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, written by Gulzar and sung by the playback singers Alisha Chinoy, Shankar Mahadevan and Javed Ali. It is from the 2005 film Bunty Aur Babli, starring Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji and Amitabh Bachchan. The female lead is a courtesan trying to express her desires to attract the male, or her client. It features Amitabh and Abhishek at a nightclub and Aishwarya Rai, making a special appearance in the film, sings for Amitabh, who joins her with Abhishek in the singing and dancing.

Kilimanjaro (song)

"Kilimanjaro" is a Tamil song from the 2010 film Enthiran, directed by S. Shankar. The song was composed by A. R. Rahman, lyrics penned by Pa.Vijay and sung by Javed Ali and Chinmayi. The Hindi and Telugu version of the song have lyrics respectively written by Swanand Kirkire and Bhuvana Chandra. The song, based on the raga Karaharapriya, is reputed for its use of tribal beats with a catchy chorus and with various musical experiments. Song shooting took place in Machu Picchu in Peru.
