Saint Agericus (French: Saint Airy, also called Algeric, or Aguy; c. 521 in Verdun (possibly Harville) – 588), was the 10th Bishop of Verdun, and an advisor to King Childebert II of Austrasia.
He was born to a poor family, his parents having prayed for many years to be given a child. His mother gave birth to him in a field where she was working (hence the name Agericus; its meaning in Latin: ager field + icus of or pertaining to) He served as pastor at the Church of Saints Peter and Paul.
In 554 he succeeded Saint Desideratus as Bishop of Verdun.
He was known to perform miracles, and as a great helper to the poor of the region (parts of modern-day France, Germany, Belgium, and Luxembourg).
He was a signatory of the Treaty of Andelot in 587.
His feast day is celebrated each year by Roman Catholics on December 1.Battle of Jemappes
The Battle of Jemappes (6 November 1792) took place near the town of Jemappes in Hainaut, Austrian Netherlands (now Belgium), near Mons during the War of the First Coalition, part of the French Revolutionary Wars. One of the first major offensive battles of the war, it was a victory for the armies of the infant French Republic, and saw the French Armée du Nord, which included a large number of inexperienced volunteers, defeat a substantially smaller regular Austrian army.
General Charles François Dumouriez, in command of an army of French Revolutionary volunteers, faced the Imperial army of Field Marshal Duke Albert of Saxe-Teschen and his second-in-command François de Croix, Count of Clerfayt. The French, who outnumbered their opponents by about three-to-one, launched a series of enthusiastic but uncoordinated attacks against the Austrian position on a ridge. At length, the French seized a portion of the ridge and the Austrians were unable to drive them away. Saxe-Teschen conceded defeat by ordering a withdrawal.
Jemappes was won by costly but effective charges against the Austrians' prepared position. Dumouriez overran the Austrian Netherlands within a month, but lost it at the Battle of Neerwinden in March. The French would not reconquer the Austrian Netherlands until the summer of 1794.Chad Harville
Chad Ashley Harville (born September 16, 1976) is a former relief pitcher who last played for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Harville bats and throws right-handed. He is known for throwing in the high 90's with an outstanding sinker.
A second-round pick of the Oakland Athletics in 1997, Harville posted a 4-6 record with a 4.94 ERA and one save in 135 career relief appearances with Oakland and Houston. In 133 innings, he had 114 strikeouts and 78 walks.
On August 23, 2005, Harville was claimed by the Boston Red Sox off waivers from the Astros. He was 0-2 with a 4.46 ERA in 37 games for Houston, having allowed just two runs in 15 1-3 innings over his last 13 appearances. With the Red Sox unable to find the right combination of relievers due to injury and ineffectiveness (using a total of 18 pitchers out of the bullpen), they decided to take a chance on Harville, designating Mike Remlinger for assignment. Unfortunately, Harville was 0-1 with a 6.43 ERA in 8 appearances for Boston.
On November 22, 2005, Harville was signed by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays as a free agent to a one-year deal, but he had another down season, posting a 0-2 record and a 5.93 ERA in 32 appearances. On August 15, 2006, the Devil Rays designated him for assignment. In 2007, Harville was the closer for the Arizona Diamondbacks Triple-A affiliate, the Tucson Sidewinders.
Harville is originally from Savannah, Tennessee. He attended Hardin County High School. In 1994, he was named All-Conference in C-USA while playing for the Memphis Tigers.Harville (disambiguation)

Their son, Hunter Hunt-Hendrix, is the front man of the American black metal band Liturgy.Imago therapy
Imago Relationship Therapy (IRT) is a form of romantic relationship and couple therapy that focuses on relational counseling that transforms a conflict into an opportunity to grow and heal. IRT is accessible for all partners in romantic relationship, no matter the sexual orientation. IRT has the goal of allowing couples to understand each other's feelings, childhood trauma, and wounds on a more empathetic level. Using a deeper level of empathy to understand someone will allow couples to better understand their relationship on a personal level and romantic level. Doing this will allow the couple to better consciously understand their relationship.
IRT was developed by Dr. Harville Hendrix and Dr. Helen LaKelly Hunt. Hendrix is the author of "Getting the Love You Want" A Guide for Couples (1988)', a best-selling book. The word imago is latin for "image" - in this sense it is referring to the "unconscious image of similar love." Hendrix found that there is a connection between the frustrations experienced in adult relationships and the experiences people have during early childhood. Hendrix was hoping to establish the "imago dialogue" within couples relationships so they could move from blame and reactivity, to understanding and empathy so that the couple could create a deeper bound and loving connection. Experiences like frequent criticism or neglect as a child can come up when people are married or in a committed relationship. It is hard for people to conquer these problems in individual therapy sessions but they will typically arise again in partnerships. Dr. Hendrix says that when people can understand their partners feelings, and childhood experiences, they can begin to "heal their relationship and move toward a more conscious relationship".Jan Harville

Persuasion is a 1971 British television serial adaptation of the Jane Austen novel of the same name. It was produced by Granada Television for ITV and was directed by Howard Baker. The series stars Ann Firbank as Anne Elliott and Bryan Marshall as Captain Wentworth. It was originally aired in April and May 1971 in five episodes.Persuasion (novel)
Persuasion is the last novel fully completed by Jane Austen. It was published at the end of 1817, six months after her death.
The story concerns Anne Elliot, a young Englishwoman of 27 years, whose family is moving to lower their expenses and get out of debt. They rent their home to an Admiral and his wife. The wife’s brother, Navy Captain Frederick Wentworth, had been engaged to Anne in 1806, and now they meet again, both single and unattached, after no contact in more than seven years. This sets the scene for many humorous encounters as well as a second, well-considered chance at love and marriage for Anne in her second "bloom".
The novel was well-received in the early 19th century. Greater fame came later in the century, continued in the 20th century, and through to the 21st century. Much scholarly debate on Austen's work has since been published. Anne Elliot is noteworthy among Austen's heroines for her relative maturity. As Persuasion is Austen's last completed novel, it is accepted as her most maturely written novel showing a refinement of literary conception indicative of a woman approaching forty years of age. Unlike Sense and Sensibility and Pride and Prejudice, Persuasion was not rewritten from earlier drafts of novels that Austen had originally started before 1800. Her use of free indirect discourse in narrative was by 1816 in full evidence.
The first edition of Persuasion was co-published with the previously unpublished Northanger Abbey in late December 1817 (1818 given on the title page), as the second two volumes of a four-volume set, with a preface for the first time publicly identifying Austen as the author of all her novels. Neither "Northanger Abbey" nor "Persuasion" was published under the working title Austen used. The later editions of both were published separately.
Four made-for-television adaptations of the novel were made in Britain, beginning in 1960 with a mini-series featuring Daphne Slater in Persuasion. The next starred Ann Firbank in the lead role in the 1971 version co-starring Bryan Marshall; Amanda Root starred in the 1995 version co-starring Ciarán Hinds; and Sally Hawkins starred in the 2007 version co-starring Rupert Penry-Jones and made for ITV1. Another was made in the US in 1995.Restricted maximum likelihood
In statistics, the restricted (or residual, or reduced) maximum likelihood (REML) approach is a particular form of maximum likelihood estimation that does not base estimates on a maximum likelihood fit of all the information, but instead uses a likelihood function calculated from a transformed set of data, so that nuisance parameters have no effect. In the case of variance component estimation, the original data set is replaced by a set of contrasts calculated from the data, and the likelihood function is calculated from the probability distribution of these contrasts, according to the model for the complete data set. In particular, REML is used as a method for fitting linear mixed models. In contrast to the earlier maximum likelihood estimation, REML can produce unbiased estimates of variance and covariance parameters. The idea underlying REML estimation was put forward by M. S. Bartlett in 1937. The first description of the approach applied to estimating components of variance in unbalanced data was by Desmond Patterson and Robin Thompson of the University of Edinburgh in 1971, although they did not use the term REML.
A review of the early literature was given by Harville.REML estimation is available in a number of general-purpose statistical software packages, including Genstat (the REML directive), SAS (the MIXED procedure), SPSS (the MIXED command), Stata (the mixed command), JMP (statistical software), and R (especially the lme4 and older nlme packages),
as well as in more specialist packages such as MLwiN, HLM, ASReml, (ai)remlf90, wombat, Statistical Parametric Mapping and CropStat.
REML estimation is implemented in Surfstat a Matlab toolbox for the statistical analysis of univariate and multivariate surface and volumetric neuroimaging data using linear mixed effects models and random field theory.WMFR

Wye Racecourse (29 May 1849 – June 1975) was a British horse racing venue, situated in East Kent between Ashford and Canterbury about 600 yards south of Wye railway station.
The first racing in Wye took place on 29 May 1849 at the Crown. Originally, racing took place over fences and on the flat, but in 1878 the course moved to Harville Farm and flat racing ceased. Steeplechases, however, continued to be held in September, January, March, and May.The last racing took place at Wye on 2 May 1974 and the course closed permanently in June 1975.
The Jockey Club had insisted upon changes to the course in August 1974, including changing the camber of the bottom turn and improving the grandstand. However, the owners were unable to fund these changes, leading to closure. Wye was a very small, oval track, less than 1 mile (1.6 km) round. The land is now farmed, although some evidence of the racecourse can still be seen from satellite photographs.
