Dominican Summer League Athletics

The Dominican Summer League Athletics or DSL Athletics are a Minor League Baseball team of the Dominican Summer League that began play in 1989 as a rookie-level affiliate of the Oakland Athletics.[1] They are located in Boca Chica, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and play their home games at the Juan Marichal Complex. Two DSL Athletics squads existed between 1997 and 2008—DSL Athletics East and West (1997–2002) and DSL Athletics 1 and 2 (2003–08).[1]

List of Oakland Athletics minor league affiliates

The Oakland Athletics farm system consists of eight Minor League Baseball affiliates across the United States and in the Dominican Republic. Five teams are independently owned, while three—two Arizona League Athletics squads and the Dominican Summer League Athletics—are owned by the major league club.

The Athletics have been affiliated with the Double-A Midland RockHounds of the Texas League since 1999, making it the longest-running active affiliation in the organization among teams not owned by the Athletics.
