Dell'Orto is an Italian company, headquartered in Cabiate, specialized in the construction of carburetors and electronic injection systems. The company was founded in 1933 as "Società anonima Gaetano Dell'Orto e figli" (Gaetano Dell’Orto and Sons) but actually only founded by Gaetano's sons, Luigi Piero and Giuseppe. The first production was carburetors for motorbikes. Right before World War II the company started producing carburetors with aluminum body, for competitive racing. Under the second Dell'Orto generation, towards the end of the 60s, the company began producing OEM carburetors for the Fiat group, as well as other Italian and foreign manufacturers (i.e.Flandria, Belgium).

At the end of the 1980s, under the supervision of Luigi Dell'Orto (son of Gaetano), the company's first injection systems were released. In 2006 the company expanded on the Indian market, opening Dell'Orto India. In September 2009 Dell’Orto India Private Limited, founded in 2006 with the cooperation of a local partner, becomes 100% Italian and fully owned by the Dell’Orto family. In 2011 Dellorto decided to establish a new technical and commercial site in China, named Dell’Orto Shanghai trading company. In 2018, Dellorto signed a strategic joint venture with VARROC to develop Fuel injection systems for the Indian market and worldwide.

After three generations, the Company is still fully owned by the Dell'Orto family, with Giuseppe Dell'Orto as President of the Company and Andrea Dell'Orto as Executive Vice President and Chairman of Dellorto India Private Ltd.

Dellorto works with the Grand Prix motorcycle racing, with Gilera, Aprilia, BMW, Kawasaki and many others. Dellorto produces mechanical throttle bodies, electronic throttle bodies, variable intake systems, compressor by-pass valves, exhaust management parts, electronic control units, carburetors, fuel systems, sensors/ actuators and after market products.

The company is today one of the worldwide leaders in its field and is present in the Road Racing World Championship. It is also used in every Derbi, Aprilia and Yamaha 50cc model.

Alfa Romeo Alfa 6

The Alfa Romeo Alfa 6 (Type 119) is a luxury executive car produced by the Italian automaker Alfa Romeo from 1979 to 1986. Its name refers to the six cylinders of the Alfa Romeo V6 engine, which made its first appearance on this car.

Aprilia RS125R

The Aprilia RS 125 R is a race motorcycle manufactured by Aprilia to race in the Grand Prix motorcycle World Championship, built to replace the old Aprilia AF1. It was debuted in 1991, and it had many upgrades since. The bike won ten World Championship (one rebranded as Derbi and one as Gilera).

In 1991 the original tank was 12 liters, which became 13 in 1994 and 14 in 1995; the original carburator was a Dell'Orto VHSB 39, which was upgraded to a Dell'Orto VHSD 41 in 1996 and to a Dell'Orto VHSG 42 in 2006.

Since 1996 the brake specification has gone from a single front brake disc 300 mm in carbon steel to a single brake in carbon, with a diameter of 275 mm disc; in 2000 the bike returned to a double disc front braking system .

Since 2007, the bike is available in a new version, called RSA 125, for some riders. The RSA has many new details than the previous model, including improvements in the intake system and the engine. The old version, with some updates from the RSA, is still used as a customer bike and it is called the RS 125 LE.

The RSA (and the "evolution" version of the RS 125) are used not only by Aprilia, but also by Gilera and Derbi (rebranded as such), since all three brands belong to the Piaggio group.

Aprilia RX/SX 50

The 2006 Aprilia RX/SX 50 is a street/off-road motorcycle widely produced by Aprilia. It is powered by a six-speed, carburetor-fuelled, nikasil-lined and cast iron single-cylinder two-stroke engine manufactured by Derbi/Piaggio.

Aprilia SR50

The Aprilia SR50 is a scooter built by Aprilia. Introduced in 1992, more than 800,000 units have been sold, bucking the trend for less use of two-stroke engines. Aprilia claims several firsts for the SR50 in the scooter market, including 13 inch wheels, liquid cooling, double disc braking, and a direct injection engine.

The performance-oriented suspension, tires, and engine are consistent with its styling. Colours and graphics vary by country. The digital instrument panel gives readings for speed, clock, odometer, trip counter, fuel level, coolant temperature and battery voltage.

The SR50 has used a variety of engines, sourced from Morini, Piaggio and Minarelli. It conforms to EURO 3 emission standards. The DiTech model used an injection engine, with technology from Orbital. The current model uses a Dell'Orto waterbottle. The powerful engines allow reaching very high speeds for a scooter, the SR50 can reach 90 km/h in its standard configuration after being derestricted.

Bartolomeo Bon

Bartolomeo Bon (also spelled Buon; died after 1464) was an Italian sculptor and architect from Campione d'Italia. His career spans the transition between Venetian Gothic architecture and the rather late start of Venetian Renaissance architecture.

Together with his father Zane Bon, he worked in Venice: they finished the decoration of the famous Gothic Ca' d'Oro (1424–1430) and the marble door of the Basilica di Santa Maria dei Frari. They were also entrusted with the construction of the Porta della Carta (1438–1442) at the Palazzo Ducale.

Bartolomeo alone worked at a portal of the Scuola Grande di San Marco (a lunette is now housed in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London), the portal of San Polo and the Porta della Carta, which connects the Ducal Palace to St. Mark's Basilica.

Cesare Torelli

Cesare Torelli Romano was an Italian painter.

He was born in Rome, and a pupil of Giovanni de' Vecchi. He flourished in the pontificate of Paul V, and was employed both as a painter and a mosaicist in the library of the Vatican, and in the Scala Santa at San Giovanni in Laterano. He painted two Sibyls in the church of the Madonna dell'Orto in Venice. He died in 1615.

A sculptor of the same name was active in late 19th-century Florence, specializing in genre statuettes.

Giovanni Battista Parodi

Giovanni Battista Parodi (1674–1730) was an Italian painter, born in Genoa. He belonged to an Italian family of artists. His father was the sculptor and wood-carver Filippo Parodi (1630–1702). His brother was Domenico Parodi (1672–1742), a painter, sculptor and architect.

In Genoa his frescoes are to be seen in the Church of Santa Maria Maddalena.} But he spent most of career in Milan and Bergamo. He added church ceilings in Milan, contributed to the decoration of churches in Bergamo and to the Palazzo Mazzoleni in Bibbiena. In Rome, his sole prominent public commission was for the fresco of the ceiling of San Pietro in Vincoli in 1706. and the vault medallions (c. 1706) in S Maria dell’Orto, Rome.

Lotus 907

The Lotus 907 is an engine designed and manufactured for automotive applications by Lotus Cars. It is an all-alloy inline-4 engine with dual overhead camshafts (DOHC) and 16 valves. It displaced 1973 cc and developed approximately 144 bhp (107 kW) with dual side-draft Dell'Orto carburetors in most markets and Zenith Stromberg carburetors for US cars. It was nicknamed "The Torqueless Wonder" for its lack of bottom end but good high end horsepower.

MV Agusta 175

The MV Agusta 175 were a series of motorcycles produced by the Italian manufacturer MV Agusta from 1953 to 1960. The series included touring, GT (Gran Turismo), sports and supersports models. There were also two racing variants. Because of the shape of the petrol tank, the sports and supersport models became known as the Disco Volante (Flying Saucer). The series was MV's best seller.

It was founded by Armando Malossi in 1930.Originally the company specialised in tuning Dell'orto carburettors for motorcycles and this strong association continues to this day with Malossi providing a huge array of carburettors and kits for mopeds, scooters and motorcycles. Among other products, Malossi produces cylinders and variators for both racing and road use. Malossi is currently producing two product lines, the Malossi and the MHR (Malossi Hyper Racing) which is exclusively for racing use.

Malossi's main competitor is Polini, which is also based in Italy.

Manganaro's Grosseria Italiana, commonly referred to as Manganaro's, was an Italian market and deli on Ninth Avenue in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. It opened in 1893 and operated for 119 years, helping to introduce the hero sandwich to Americans. The family closed the business and put the property up for sale in 2012.

The business was founded in 1893 by Ernest Petrucci as a wine and spirits store, Petrucci's Wines & Brandies, that also sold groceries. Its location at 488 Ninth Avenue near 37th Street was on a stretch of the avenue that remained lined with exotic food stores for decades. After the enactment of Prohibition in the U.S. in 1919, Petrucci's nephew James Manganaro, an immigrant from Naples, took over the store in the 1920s and changed the name; in 1927 he was able to buy the building. Manganaro may have invented the hero sandwich, and played a role in introducing it to Americans. On his death in 1953, Manganaro's passed to his brother Louis and sister Nina Manganaro Dell'Orto and their spouses; in 1955, with a publicity agent's help, they invented the six-foot "Hero-Boy" sandwich, which was successful enough for one of Dell'Orto's four sons to go on the original version of the TV quiz show I've Got a Secret, and for the family to open a sandwich shop next door at 492–494 Ninth Avenue the following year, while continuing to operate a deli and lunch counter in the rear of the grocery store. In 1962 Louis Manganaro retired and two of his four nephews took over the grocery store and the other two the sandwich shop, Manganaro's Hero-Boy, and the businesses were separated.Sal Dell'Orto, who bought out his brother's half ownership of the grocery store, and James Dell'Orto, who bought out his brother's half ownership of the sandwich shop, fell out over rights to the "Manganaro's Hero-Boy" name, trademarked by the sandwich shop in 1969, and advertising for party sandwich telephone hotlines, which led to two separate court cases. The business' neon sign installed in the early 1930s, which became blinking in the 1960s, was turned off in 2000 so that Manganaro's Hero-Boy could not benefit from it. The grocery store was repeatedly found at fault over the hotline and was ordered to pay damages to the sandwich shop, and the financial drain plus waning popularity, some of it due to the declining neighborhood, led to the decision to sell the building and close. This was first announced early in 2011, but the building was withdrawn from the market; the business then closed in late February 2012.Anthony Bourdain featured the store (and its famously brusque service) in an episode of No Reservations in 2009.
