beIN Sports (Australian TV channel)

beIN Sports Australia and New Zealand is a sports television network operating in Australia available to homes and businesses across Australia and New Zealand. The network began in 2007 as Setanta Sports Australia which was part of the Setanta Sports Group of television channels that operate around the world.

In late 2014, Setanta Sports Australia was acquired by the beIN Media Group. As a result, on 24 November 2014, the channel was rebranded as beIN Sports.[1][2]

beIN Sports Australia and New Zealand provides a range of international sport specialising in football, Rugby Union, tennis and European handball. beIN Sports Australia and New Zealand's broadcast rights include Football League Cup, Football League Championship, Ligue 1, German Bundesliga, La Liga, Italian Serie A (AUS only), SPFL, RBS 6 Nations, Major League Soccer and WTA.

On 14 May 2016, beIN Sports Australia expanded from one to three channels, with all available in HD. Previously, only one channel was available and only in SD. For Foxtel customers, all three channels became available at no additional cost as part of the sports pack, where previously the single channel was an add-on at an additional cost.
