A V Swamy

Alajangi Viswanath Swamy (born 18 July 1929) is an Indian politician from the Odisha state. He was elected to the Rajya Sabha the Upper house of Indian Parliament from Odisha as an Independent candidate.[1][2][3]

2012 Indian Rajya Sabha elections

Rajya Sabha elections were held on various dates in 2012, to elect members of the Rajya Sabha, Indian Parliament's upper chamber. The elections were held in January to elect respectively 3 members from NCT of Delhi, 1 members from Sikkim., and in March for 57 members from 15 States for the Rajya Sabha and in June for 3 members from Kerala.

The bye-elections to Council of States were also held from the States of Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra .

Anubhav made his debut in the Bengali film industry with the movie Saathi Amaar opposite Rachana Banerjee in a special appearance. Anubhav Mohanty is the highest paid actor of Odia Industry. He has a significant following in Odisha, referred as the "Bhaijaan", "Megastar of Ollywood", "Superstar of Ollywood".

Chhatrapal Singh Lodha

Chhatrapal Singh Lodha is an Indian politician of the Bharatiya Janata Party elected to the Rajya Sabha from Orissa.

He was one of the accused in the 2005 cash-for-question scandal. In a sting operation named Operation Duryodhana the media firm Cobrapost caught him on camera accepting a bribe of 15,000 rupees (about US$350) for asking concocted questions in Parliament.Chairperson of the Rajya Sabha Bhairon Singh Shekhawat asked the Ethics Committee to probe the allegations against Chhatrapal and within 48 hours the panel found reason for his suspension. As a result he was expelled from the Rajya Sabha.His name also figured in the Operation Chakravyuha which accused seven members of parliament including Chhatrapal of seeking kickbacks for getting projects sanctioned under the Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS).

Lokanath Misra

Lokenath Misra (1922-2009) was an Indian politician. He was a member of the Rajya Sabha.

He was the Governor of Assam during 1991-1997

and Governor of Nagaland during 1992-1993.

He died on 27 May 2009 at Bhubaneswar.

He was the elder son of poet and notable socialist Godabarish Mishra. His younger brother Ranganath Misra was the former Chief Justice of India.

He was also Deputy Chairman of Odisha state's planning board and is also an industrialist.In 2016, he was the candidate of the party for the biennial Rajya Sabha elections. He was elected unopposed with Prasanna Acharya and Bishnu Charan Das.

Born on 23 July 1953 he completed his B.Com degree from Alagappa University of Tamil Nadu in 2008.

Pyarimohan Mohapatra

Pyarimohan Mohapatra (25 January 1940 – 19 March 2017) was a politician from the Odisha Jana Morcha as a member of the Parliament of India representing Odisha in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament. He was the political advisor of Naveen Patnaik. He started his career as an IAS officer and was principal secretary to Biju Patnaik. He was considered as the mastermind and the proxy leader of the Biju Janata Dal.

He was suspended from the Biju Janata Dal, following an alleged coup attempt against Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in June 2012, while the chief minister was in London. 1 BJD MP Pyari Mohan Mohapatra, resigned as the party’s parliamentary group leader in Rajya Sabha on 4 August 2012.

He attributed his resignation to absence of communication between him and BJD president and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.He founded OJM(Odisha Jana Morcha) as a rebel party and fought in the 2014 state elections without much success. After spending 8 months at the Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai in a critical condition, the "Chanakya of Odisha politics" died on 19 March 2017.
