GWR 1076 Class

The 1076 Class were 266 double framed 0-6-0 tank locomotives built by the Great Western Railway between 1870 and 1881; the last one, number 1287, was withdrawn in 1946. They are often referred to as the Buffalo Class following the naming of locomotive 1134.

HD 895

HD 895 is a multiple star system in the constellation Andromeda. Its apparent magnitude is 6.277, so it can be seen by the naked eye under very favourable conditions. Based on parallax measured by Hipparcos, the system is located around 54 parsecs (180 ly) away, and it's made of two different spectroscopic binary pairs. The first pair is made of a primary yellow giant star of spectral type G0III, and the secondary subgiant star of spectral type K2IV, so they have both left the main sequence evolutionary phase. They are also both more massive than the Sun. The secondary completes an orbit around the primary every 421 years. The second pair is a double-lined spectroscopic binary located 18 arcseconds away from the first pair, although with an apparent magnitude of 10.37 it is too faint to be seen without a telescope. It wasn't recognized as a separate pair in the old Bright Star Catalogue and Henry Draper Catalogue, thus it bears the designation HD 895C. They are both G-type main sequence stars slightly less massive than the Sun, with spectral types G7V and G8V respectively. They complete an orbit around their center of mass approximately every 6 days.Using Gaia parallax, instead, the pair formed by the primary and the secondary is much closer than previous measures, at an estimated distance of 175 light years. The two pairs, then, may be not gravitationally bound.

Sweyn II of Denmark

Sweyn II Estridsson (Old Norse: Sveinn Ástríðarson, Danish: Svend Estridsen) (c. 1019 – 28 April 1076) was King of Denmark from 1047 until his death in 1076. He was the son of Ulf Thorgilsson and Estrid Svendsdatter, and the grandson of King Sweyn I Forkbeard through his mother's line. He was married three times, and fathered 20 children or more out of wedlock, including the five future kings Harald III Hen, Canute IV the Saint, Oluf I Hunger, Eric I Evergood, and Niels.

He was courageous in battle, but did not have much success as a military commander. His skeleton reveals that he was a tall, powerfully built man who walked with a limp.

USS Fanning (FF-1076)

USS Fanning (FF-1076), a Knox-class frigate, is the 3rd ship of the United States Navy to be named for Nathaniel Fanning.

USS Page County (LST-1076)

USS Page County (LST-1076) was a LST-542-class tank landing ship built for the United States Navy during World War II. Named for counties in Iowa and Virginia, she was the only U.S. Naval vessel to bear the name. Initially known only as LST-1076, the ship was deactivated following the war. Renamed Page County in 1955, the ship was reactivated in 1960 and saw service during the Vietnam War. Decommissioned in 1971, Page County was transferred to the Hellenic Navy and renamed Kriti. Her fate is unknown.

VHDL

VHDL (VHSIC Hardware Description Language) is a hardware description language used in electronic design automation to describe digital and mixed-signal systems such as field-programmable gate arrays and integrated circuits. VHDL can also be used as a general purpose parallel programming language.
